Hiya! In response to the post you reblogged and said “What kind of fishie is this?” That’s a dumbo octopus! It’s called the “dumbo” because of the little ears (well, they’re fins that look like ears), which are unique to that genus, and they use to swim around, like it’s doing in that gif. The scientific name is actually Grimpoteuthis, which is a genus that has thirteen different species of octopuses that all have little ears like that!
