Over the last few days they gave up on trying to sedate him. He was pulling himself out of it and joking with the family anyway, so they just let him do his thing.
There are times when he’s not feeling well or he’s frustrated by his situation, but there are also a lot of times he’s joking and giving the nurses a hard time.
He’s still got the ventilator tubes in his neck, but he’s learned how to time it so he can talk. They’re taking him in for surgery on his left wrist today because he’s developed an abscess – most likely from a foreign object that was under the skin from the accident.
